Access Statement

We aim to cater for the needs of all our clients and their travelling companions so the following information may be useful:

Access to Buildings

Since our workshop premises were not originally designed with access in mind should you, your partner or one of your party have particular access requirements we have an arrangement with a very local, fully accessible hotel, just outside Bodmin near the A30/A38 cross-over.

Lanhydrock Hotel and Golf Course kindly make their facilities available to us for handovers & returns, should a client require this. If you would like to consider this please discuss this when booking.

Lanhydrock Hotel has a large tarmac parking area, downstairs bedrooms, restaurant and disabled toilet facilities. Lifts are also available to the upstairs areas of the hotel making it a very accessible handover and/or accommodation venue. Please see www.lanhydrockhotel.com for details.

Our own premises consists of a large gravel area for parking, concrete hard standing immediately outside the large sliding doors of the garage/workshop and external office with approx 8" (approx 19cm) entry step. Toilet facilities are approximately 80 metres away and are shared with our neighbour/landlord. There are three steps (with a handrail), of 3" (approx 7 cm), 5" (approx 13 cm) & 6" (approx 15cm) respectively leading up to the toilet door. The toilet itself is rather on the small side with sliding door making access limited.

Access to Cars

Should a driver or passenger be particularly tall (over 6' 2" – 1.88 metres or greater) or over 18 stone (252 lbs, 114 kilos) we recommend bringing this to our attention upon booking. In this respect some car choices are better than others, so depending upon the exact body shape of the person concerned (e.g. is height in the leg or torso?) we will give tailored advice.

Depending on the number of people travelling with you our 1961 Mk II Jaguar, 1966 Aston Martin DB 6 and 1974 Triumph Stag four seaters should be able to accommodate a folding wheelchair. Sadly this will probably not be practical for the other cars on our fleet as they are all two seaters with more modest luggage capacity. (Please supply dimensions of the folded chair and we will of course check your preferred car for you)

For insurance reason drivers must have a full licence with any disabilities or health issues fully disclosed to the DVLA, (with your doctor having passed you as fit to drive). Providing your licence remains valid and un-endorsed, we are delighted to make arrangements for you.
