Winner: South West Tourism Excellence Awards 2005/06

We are delighted to announce that Cornwall Classic Car Hire has been named 'Best Tourism Experience' 2005/2006 by South West Tourism in the regional tourism excellence awards.
The awards ceremony will be held on 1 November 2005 at Woodbury Park, Exeter, with presentations by Simon Calder, Travel Editor of the Independent newspaper and television travel presenter. South West winners now go on to represent the South West region at the national EnjoyEngland for Excellence Awards in London in 2006.
Entrants needed to demonstrate exemplary facilities and exceptionally high qualities of customer care, reflecting the demands of today’s customers. In addition, it was important that the applicants showed a commitment to sustainability, recycling and the environment. Accessibility for disabled customers was another priority, with many of the winners having specially installed facilities and staff trained to welcome visitors with any kind of disability. Winners were also commended for their use of regional produce and investment in the local community.
Malcolm Bell, Chief Executive of South West Tourism, said: “This year we are pleased to announce that we have received more entries than ever before and the quality has also been outstanding. ‘Exemplary Quality’ was a major criterion within the judging process as it is vital that we offer a product that satisfies the ever increasing expectations of consumers. I would like to congratulate the award winners for their time and effort in achieving such high standards and for helping to reinforcing the South West’s position as a world class holiday destination.
